Therapeutic Polyclonal Antibodies
Immunotherapeutics such as monoclonal antibodies are being developed by many biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies for treatment of an ever increasing array of clinical conditions. While many of these monoclonals will find significant markets, Origen has recognized that fully human sequence polyclonal antibodies have significant advantages over monoclonals in many therapeutic situations due to their greater potency and efficacy, lower immunogenicity and potentially lower dosing.
The difficulty of obtaining fully human sequence polyclonals from blood donors and volunteers has limited their application to all but a few clinical settings. Origen’s technology can solve this problem by creating transgenic chickens that make human rather than chicken antibodies in response to immunization and deposit these antibodies in egg yolk. Hence, Origen’s technology can create new products for applications where immunotherapy is known to be effective.

Polyclonal antibodies bind to many sites on a target antigen.
